Senior House of 21st century | arch. competition

This architectural concept moves away from traditional institutional facilities, replacing them with small neighborhood units where the building is understood as a "garden of relationships." The core element is an individual room designed as a compact studio apartment that ensures privacy while maintaining constant contact with nature through large windows. Seven rooms form a household with a shared living space, and these households further interconnect into larger communities. Instead of impersonal hallways, this creates a clear network of communities with a natural progression from the individual to the wider neighborhood.

The same logic of graduated privacy applies to the outdoors; the garden permeates the building's structure through atriums and terraces, giving each level its own access to nature. The complex also opens up to the outside world through an internal square for residents, families, and the public. This universal principle was successfully proven in both flat Lysá nad Labem and hilly Milovice - the differing terrain altered the spatial layout, but the resident-centered character remained the same.
