The new Ještěd funicular, designed by Anna Marešová, blends futuristic aesthetics with a tribute to the iconic architecture of the Ještěd hotel and transmitter. The cabin resembles a landing UFO, featuring subtle lighting elements inspired by 1960s Czech sci-fi. Its design reflects the character of the mountain and its surroundings with clean contours and a focus on harmony with the landscape.

Minimalist and technologically advanced, the concept emphasizes the passenger experience — from a glass panel in the floor offering views below, to gentle lighting details that transform the ride into a sensory moment. A single high-capacity cabin suspended on twin cables will serve not only as transport, but as a moving architectural experience.
